My favorite mountain bike rider is Aaron Gwin and he rides downhill and is one of the fastest downhill riders ever. He started Mountain biking in 2008 at age 20. He is one of the top World Cup riders, and the only american racing in the World Cup. He has taken multiple world titles. In 2012 he became the first rider to win 5 world cups in a single season. He first started with motocross racing at age 12 but stopped at age 17 because of injuries. he then got into Downhill riding and liked it because he thought of it like a mix of bmx and motocross riding. He says he owns 15 different bikes and that he just likes riding bikes in general.

In this blog post I'm going to write about what I want to do this weekend. When I get home I will most likely just chill out and relax for the night. I will probably sleep in on Saturday but hopefully after I finally wake up I can go mountain biking. If I go biking I will most likely go to the Blowing Springs trail system around Bentonville, Arkansas. Arkansas has a lot more trails than Missouri so I like going there but Blowing Springs is Probably my favorite.
Cross Country biking is one of the most common biking disciplines. Cross country cycling became an Olympic sport in 1996. Cross country riding goes across all types of terrain and through single track trails. Cross Country bikes are normally made to be as light as possible and may not be able to withstand large impacts because lots of components are made from carbon to save weight. The bikes have a "square" geometry and normally have thinner tires.
First I am going to say that mountain biking is my favorite thing to do. I go almost every weekend and normally go to one of the many trail systems in Bentonville Arkansas. Right now my favorite trail to ride is called blowing springs loop and it is only about 4 miles but it is very fun. The trails I ride are normally XC trails because there isn't much for downhill nearby. My bike is an older Specialized Rockhopper expert. It is a 29er hard tail trail bike. It has a suspension fork but it is old and only has about 3in of travel.
In this post I am going to talk more about slopestyle riding. Slopestyle riding is almost like a mix of BMX and mountain biking. It is mostly about jumping bikes and tricks. The bikes that slopestyle riders use are normally small with a 26" wheel base and normally are hard tails with about 100mm of suspension on the front, it depends on the rider though. The tires that people put on a slopestyle bike are skinny and don't have knobs like a mountain bike would.
The most important thing about a slopestyle bike is that they are strong but still lightweight. It has to be strong to avoid breaking because crashes happen often. There is many competitions for slopestyle but the most popular is Red Bull Joyride. My name is Josh Smith and my website is all about mountain biking. There are several types of biking and bikes to use depending on what kind of riding you do. Probably the most popular type of biking is Downhill, it is normally what people think of when you say mountain biking. Downhill can mean a lot of different things but most Downhill races start high on a mountain and finish a few thousand feet below. The second most popular type of riding is Cross Country. Cross country riding normally involves riding up and down different slopes and hills. Cross country races are normally long and involve lots of pedaling. Slope Style is very different and is like a cross between mountain biking and BMX. Trials is also very different and normally wouldn't even involve a trail.
